Welcome to Cedar Bluffs Public Schools
Harlan Ptomey grew up on a small family cattle ranch on the eastern plains of Colorado where he learned the value of hard work and community. He attended Holyoke Public Schools, and participated in various school activities and organizations, excelling in athletics. After high school he played baseball at Highland Community College and later attended Colorado Mountain college, but it wasn't until he moved home and attended his younger brother's basketball games, that he knew what he wanted to do with his life - teach and coach. He enrolled in the University of Nebraska at Kearney where he pursued a teaching degree and he's spent the past twenty five years striving to change lives through education.
He's served as Superintendent of Cedar Bluffs Public Schools since 2012 where he's taken pride in managing the district's explosive growth, while maintaining the small school values of small class sizes, personalized attention to student learning, and community and parent involvement.
He's married to his wife of twenty -five years, Noelle, and the couple have two sons.
